Who is Oemy?Oemy - AKA OEMTECH is Dale Olson from Jarrell, TX.
How did I get the name Oemy? That's short for Oemtech, which is the handle I got when I did Tech Support for Dell. Jestme13 on IRV2.com gave Oemy to me during a chat session. About Jarrell, TXJarrell is just a small town along I-35 north of Austin, TX until about 2004 when the Sonterra Development Corporation bought 1,600 acres of land to build home sites. Since then there have been about 600 homes built, as of Dec 2009. But, there has also been a small commercial building boom that consists of a Flying "J", Exxon/Mobil, McDonald's, Burger King, Subway, Denny's and 2 small shopping centers. Jarrell, Texas was put on the national map back in 1997 when a category 5 tornado devastated the Double Creek Estates subdivision, including 27 deaths. It was about this time we were in the process of moving from Round Rock, TX to the country in Coupland, Texas. We were staying at our daughter's place in Georgetown, Texas at the time. I can remember the drive home from Dell that day in my 1982 Corvette dodging bad weather and hail. I knew something bad was happening north of us as the sky was as black as the background of this website.
About Coupland, TXWhere the heck is Coupland, TX? Coupland is about half between Elgin, TX and Taylor, TX on Hwy 95. To get there take Hwy 290 about 30 miles East of Austin, TX and then go 12 miles North on Hwy 95. Coupland is just a small spot in the road with a Post Office, a gas station, a bank, and the Coupland INN and Dance Hall. Not much if just drive by. But, if you look a bit closer you will find it is rich in history. The Coupland Inn is noted for its AWESOME Texas-style BBQ, Bed & Breakfast and the dance hall jumps on the weekends. Coupland has been in a number of movies such as "Lonesome Dove", "Paper Lions", "Varsity Blues", "A Perfect World" and a few others.
